"Stunning, four stars" - The Chicago Tribune

Teatr ZAR is the Resident Company at the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw,Poland. The company's performances are part of a much longer process of research, expeditions, personal explorations, and transformation. The musical structure of this performance was developed from a base of polyphonic Corsican songs, through which the company weaves Bulgarian, Icelandic, and Chechen songs.

Teatr ZAR takes audiences on a journey of polyphonic sound. Death,

mourning, ritual and resurrection are essential themes in Teatr ZAR's work. The group represents one of the most interesting trends in contemporary Polish theatre, described as 'theatre out of the spirit of music'.
