Enron, a financial vaudeville about the rise and fall of the now infamous energy company, kicks off the 10th anniversary season of Zeitgeist Stage Company (ZSC).
In Enron, one of the most infamous scandals in financial history is transformed into a theatrical epic. Mixing classical tragedy with savage comedy, the play follows a group of flawed men and women in a narrative of greed and financial collapse which reviews the tumultuous 1990s, and casts a new light on the financial turmoil in which the world finds itself in 2010. Inspired by real-life events, and using music, movement, projections, and pure theatricality, Enron captures the economic circus feeling that precipitated the collapse of the energy giant, and examines the painful aftermath.

Zeitgeist Stage's production of Enron will be the first American production since the show closed on Broadway in May.
Zeitgeist Stage celebrates its 10th anniversary season by opening with Enron, having presented its first production in the now defunct Leland Center - currently the Beehive - in September 2001.
Since then Zeitgeist Stage has gone on to win numerous awards including three Elliot Norton Awards for Outstanding Fringe Theater productions in 2005, 2006 and 2007 for Blue/Orange, Stuff Happens and The Kentucky Cycle. Zeitgeist Stage has also been nominated and awarded numerous Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards including Outstanding Small Theater production and direction for Spring Awakening: The Play.
Enron features a cast of fifteen (15) including Victor Shopov (ZSC's Farragut North) as Jeffrey Skilling, Greg Ferrisi (ZSC's Bad Jazz) as Andrew Fastow, Bill Salem (ZSC's Private Fears in Public Places) as Ken Lay and Erin Cole as Claudia Roe. The ensemble, playing over 100 different roles, is comprised of Jenn Bates, James Bocock, Gigi Cochrane, Zach Eisenstat, Michael Fisher, Becca A. Lewis, Kathryn Lynch, Mike Manship, Dmitriy Molchanov, Maya Murphy, and Andrew Smith. The production is directed by David J. Miller, Zeitgeist Stage’s producing Artistic Director.
Enron will be presented in the Plaza Black Box Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts from September 24 through October 16, 2010, with performances Wednesdays & Thursdays at 7:30 PM, Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 4 & 8 PM, and Sundays at 4 PM. Tickets are $30, with discounted tickets for Seniors & Students at $20. The Press Performance is scheduled for Sunday, September 26 at 4 PM. Low-priced previews are September 24 through 26, with all tickets $20. The three Wednesday night performances – 9/29, 10/6 & 10/13 – are Pay-What-You-Can nights, $7 minimum.
