StageSource encourages you to submit a nomination for the 2011 Theatre Hero Award .
To submit a nomination for the 2011 Theatre Hero Award, complete the following information:

STAGESOURCE THEATRE HERO AWARD
Each year, the StageSource Board of Directors selects a recipient for the StageSource Theatre Hero Award that is “an exceptional member of the Greater Boston theatre community who has demonstrated a history of service and commitment to the community through leadership, support, inspiration, innovation and promotion of the art of theatre throughout the region.”
Nominations are solicited from the Greater Boston theatre community in an open process in January and February each year. Nominees can be exceptional individual or organizational members of the Greater Boston theatre community who have demonstrated a history of service and commitment to the community through one or more of the following:
Leadership
- Spearheading new programs
- Collaborating with the community
- Fostering community building
- Serving on local boards, committees
Support
- Sharing wisdom, experience and expertise
- Championing new local talent
- Creating new opportunities and forums for artists
- Providing continuing education, mentoring and training
Inspiration
- Pushing artists to work above and beyond their previous endeavors
- Creating a forum for innovation
- Reinventing a company's image, brand or sphere of influence
- Providing continuing education, mentoring and training
Innovation
- Commissioning and producing new works
- Reaching new audiences
- Connecting with the community outside the theatre space
Promotion of the art of theatre throughout our region
- Performing in schools, community centers or underserved neighborhoods
- Serving as an advocate and/ or champion of theatre as an art form
- Introducing theatre into non-traditional spaces or arena
